Generic key of the Subfamily SINURTICANTINAE

The subfamily Aviculariinae is diagnosed by following synapomorphies (SAMM & SCHMIDT 2008): legs weakly spined or aspinose, tarsi as broad as or broader than metatarsi, a spinose process between lobes of male palpal cymbium, male palpal bulb with long embolus without keels, urticating hairs absent. This subfamily contains arboreal and semiarboreal species lacking urticating hairs (Psalmopoeus and Tapinauchenius).
